Binbashi (Major)
These were the commanders of Battalions of soldiers called Asakir-ee Mansoure-ee
Mohammediyye, founded in the reign of Mahmoud the Second.
Kecheli-Nefer
These were Janissaries who wore their hats on one side of their head –
for this reason they were originally called Kedj-Kulakh or Eghri-Kulakh. Later
this was changed to Kecheli-Kulakh.
Nizam-i Djedid
